Background
|
This site is a free encyclopedia that anyone can edit, similar in concept to Wikipedia.org , that is focused on driving research. The theory behind wikis and the particular benefits of this wiki are further detailed in Seppelt, Lees, Lee, & Rizzo (2007).
The Simulator Users Group (SUG) created this resource. The SUG is an international group of investigators using driving simulators for a variety of research purposes. The SUG recognizes that simulators are an important means for safe and objective assessment of performance capabilities in normal and impaired automobile drivers.
More generally, the group is dedicated to solving key problems facing simulator users related to simulator graphics, audio, and movement; scenario design and validation; subject adaptation and comfort; selection of performance measures; and technical standards for reporting experimental set-up and results. By addressing these issues the SUG aims to help set standards that facilitate cross-platform collaboration in future simulation research.
